Is there an internet service provider serving Somerville that will allow me to have 2 cable modems without charging extra (or at a nominal extra charge)? I prefer to plug directly into the cable modem rather than rely on the slower and less reliable wireless signal. I believe Comcast wanted 25/month or something. I don't understand why I can have a TV in every room that plugs into cable but not internet in every room
I guess I could try to fish cat ethernet wires, but I've found that to be difficult if your walls aren't already open.
I rec'd this notice of an official neighborhood meeting on the upcoming maxpak site demolition. Though it is labelled as a neighborhood meeting in large font, I'm not sure if it is a meeting that involves watching a committee talk or if it is actually an informational meeting/presentation with Q&A. Maybe a bit of both.
The fire hydrant on Russell St. near the Elm St. intersection has an OUT OF SERVICE notice on it. (It's a non-removable sign, not a tag.) Despite this, you should *not* park there -- they do issue $100 tickets for it. Believe me.
I suppose the argument is that the hydrant could be repaired at some point and then a parked car would be in violation, but I'm still pretty ticked off about it. I'll file an appeal and hope to get a reduced fine but I'm not optimistic.
The Vampirism, Energy-work and Otherkin Society (VEOS) is a loosely-organized San Francisco based group. This group is open those identifying as vampire (sang or psy), donor, otherkin, and to those who wish to learn more about such topics. Other energy-workers are also welcome, so long as you have no problem with the vampiric side of energy work.
This group is NOT open to role-players, recruiters of any type, or those seeking to promote any form of religion (discussion about religion is OK, preaching is not).
Has anyone used a sound meter to measure the noise level on the red line between Harvard Sq and Alewife? Especially, between Harvard Sq and Davis Sq? I bet it's more than 110 dBs. If one takes the T twice a day, for extended periods of time, I bet that one incurs hearing damage, especially in the low frequency ranges. Clearly, there are more important issues the MBTA is dealing with, but if the noise levels are above what sound exposure regulations permit, I'd say that customers should know about it.
“___, when you get time down in Georga. Go slow so slower I guess part of this the co through part that the fact that we are very much not in charge here we brought in. We were brought in for 1 small piece of the puzzle and that is the piece of the puzzle we are providing and until when you got this is just the occasion questions and yeah noting okey. Next week I have classes to teach about our technology and to ___ at time that will be interesting and right now I'm have quite a day I ___ when I first got here I was not driving myself into work cos I be tired I didn't have a monthly pass there is this past whatever you wanna call it. But I got that last afternoon when I get that I was able to start driving myself to work in the morning yeah. As you may know I'm kinda of a creek person about getting on time with things so I may an effort to leave a little earlier to be able to cut traffic and everything else that might come up and anybody else who had the key to the door by at least 10 15 minutes and then I came back from work again worry that I was running late and know body else was here I think somebody just arrived maybe but I think very highly very not to speak. I was just now doing my phone but I retained myself and remind myself that I hadn't forgotten them yet and I also maybe in a week. Anyway you can call me very easy to like have things switched only by car and that includes even like carve mail is.”
I'm just sitting here going through Rachels DVD collection and extracting the audio from the movies I want. I haven't added to my movie collection in quite some time so that'll be pretty awesome. So far I've gotten "The Hulk" and "Happy Gilmore." Who knows what I'll end up with however. A strange thing happened last night. I was asleep, and the next thing I knew, I'd woken up, and I kind of forgot where I was. I stood up, and walked over to the fish tank, and touched something that I can't remember what it was. I realized that I was at Rachels however, and went back to sleep. Slept all right, but I ended up having shitty dreams that I can't really remember any more. I know that Julie K was in one of them, and something had happened to her. I figured that if I went back to sleep that I’d have better dreams, since that's how it usually happens, but no luck. More bad dreams followed. Ah well, it's all good I guess. Rachel had commented last night that there was a frap in the fridge, and I totally thought that she was talking to Brock when she'd mentioned it. I was going through the fridge to find something to drink, and I found it. We were talking on the phone, since she'd called me to tell me where something was, and I was like, "Ooh, there's a frap," all excited sounding how I do. She told me that it was for me, and I was like, "aww, how awesome." I just finished it. Sometimes it's the little things that make me the happiest. :) I'm excited about seeing everyone here again, since everyone seems to like me. Rachel told me that everyone kept asking how long I was going to stay, but since that hasn't been determined yet she couldn't give them an answer. She told me that I could go home whenever I wanted, and I didn't have to feel obligated to stay, and that's awesome. I'm sure I'll have just as good of a time as I did the last time I was here, so no worries on that front. Brock said something really amusing this morning. It had something to do with "a squirrely morning," and I thought of Foamy! Rachel said, "Don't say that, Gina will start thinking of Foamy," and that was exactly what I thought of, and it amused me that Rachel and I were in each others heads even though we weren't terribly awake. I need to figure out how to get my Miranda to log conversations by screen name as opposed to "actual name." I'm using the JAWS scripts and the CListBlind.DLL, and the SRRM.DLL plugins if that helps anyone. People think the JAWS scripts suck, but I haven't had a problem with them. If anyone can help with this, that'd be pretty awesome, since I have all my accounts with Miranda now. Thanks a whole lot Windows Live for being shitty with JAWS. no love whatsoever, Gina. Nothing else to say, so I'm going to go for now. More soon though.
Breakthroughs have been happening in public notice and recognition of the polyamory alternative. Newsweek, CNN, ABC’s Nightline, MTV, bigtime evangelical media if you haven’t kept up with Polyamory in the News in the last four months (or signed up for the nice LJ friends feed or other syndication service), here’s some of what you’ve missed:
